Frames ("we", "us") is a mobile application for tracking, rating, and reviewing movies and TV shows. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Frames, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information: when you sign up we collect your email address, a username, and your password (stored securely by our authentication provider — we never see or store your plain-text password).
Profile information you choose to add: display name, profile photo, banner image, and bio.
Content you create: ratings, reviews, comments, likes, lists, watchlist and diary entries, profile showcases, and who you follow. Reviews, ratings, and profile content may be visible to other users as part of the social features.
Technical data: basic app diagnostics needed to operate the service (such as authentication tokens and cached data on your device).

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or advertising identifiers.

2. How we use your information

To create and operate your account and provide the app's features (tracking, reviews, social feed, recommendations).
To display your public activity (e.g. reviews and ratings) to other users, which is the core purpose of a social platform.
To respond to support requests sent to us.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not show third-party advertising.

3. Where your data is stored

Frames uses Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Storage) to store account data and user content. Firebase is operated by Google LLC and processes data in accordance with the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation.

4. Third-party content (TMDb)

Movie and TV metadata (titles, posters, cast information, etc.) is provided by The Movie Database (TMDb). Requests for this content are made to TMDb's servers. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Watch-availability information may be provided via JustWatch data included in the TMDb API.

5. Data retention & deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your content (reviews, lists, etc.) in the app at any time. To delete your account and its associated data, contact us at support@frames.is and we will process the deletion within 30 days.

6. Children

Frames is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

7. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access to stored data is restricted by server-side security rules. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves (for example, if we add new features or sign-in methods). We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
